User:Ricken/SandboxPG/Page blanking
Page blanking means editing a page so as to leave it completely blank, or without any substantial content.
In most cases, AmtWiki pages should not be blanked. If you think an article has no useful content, then either fix it, or else leave it in its present state and propose it for deletion.
Page blanking is acceptable in one's own userspace. However, pages of other editors should not be blanked unless they violate AmtWiki policies.
If the substantial content of a page has been incorporated into that of another, then the first page can be blanked and replaced with a redirect to the second page, a process called merging.
Repeated, unnecessary page blanking may get a user blocked indefinitely.
Player page blanking
For many reasons, Amtgardians may choose to not have an AmtWiki page about themselves. The preferred method for removing player pages is to request page deletion from an admin under the AmtWiki:criteria for speedy deletion. Self-blanked pages are seen as a request for deletion, and are subject to normal deletion policies.
Players who are considered "non-removable" (knights of Amtgard, banned players, etc.) that wish to have their page blanked may instead have all non-essential information removed. See AmtWiki:Player pages.
Players who have blanked pages should not be added to a category that is intended for a permanent solution to a blank page (for example, the depreciated Category:Do Not Want).
