This page contains guidance on the proper use of categorization of pages about Amtgard chapters on AmtWiki. For the main guidelines on categorization, see AmtWiki:Categorization.
Assigning categories
Chapter pages should include the following types of categories:
Year founded
- Chapters should be added to the category for when it was founded, as specified by the year they first began to meet and not the year their contract was approved.
- Example: Category:Founded in 2001
Current activity
- Categories indicating activity levels should be current based on the parks acceptance as active by their sponsoring kingdom. If the park is a freehold, it is considered active if their ORK page lists activity.
- Examples: Category:Active Amtgard Chapter, Category:Defunct Amtgard Chapter
Kingdom affiliation
- Chapters should be categorized by both kingdom sponsorship, if any, and current association with that sponsorship. Parks which were once part of one kingdom but are now a part of another (or are now a freehold) should be listed as such. Defunct chapters should be listed as "defunct" chapters of their last kingdom affiliation instead of "former" chapters, unless they changed affiliation before becoming defunct.
- Examples: Category:Active Freeholds, Category:Active Celestial Kingdom Chapters, Category:Former Burning Lands Chapters
Real world location
- Chapters should be listed according to their real world location, by US state. Chapters outside of the US should instead be listed by country. They should also be listed by activity levels.
- Examples: Category:Active Louisiana Chapters, Category:Defunct Virginia Chapters
Chapter size
- Size categories should be listed by current designation by the sponsoring kingdom. Defunct parks should not continue to be categorized by size. Freeholds should be categorized as freeholds, even if they are also considered shires for the sake of awards that my be given.
- Examples: Category:Kingdoms, Category:Shires, Category: Principalities
