Biography

  There are few who have served The Matron of Ravens, fewer still who have walked away alive after breaking a deal with The Matron of Ravens, but only one who has done both and still lives, but he does not live to tell the tale. 
  It all began on a small farm where a young half elf by the name of Valiron lived. He lived here with his parents and siblings a short distance from the local town, where starting at the young age of 5 he would begin to spend time at the local tavern swindling people out of their coin. Now unknown to Valiron at the time these people were not so much being swindled as they were giving him some spare coins that they had on themselves at the time as to not hurt the feelings of the young half elf. However, as Valiron grew in age so too did he grow in his skill and would become a proficient swindler. This would all come to a boiling point when a group from an assassins guild would spend time in this tavern. Valiron would offer the seeming leader of the group a simple card game, and would end up taking all the assassin's gold leaving him with only a few silvers. Upon realizing that he had been had the assassin became aggressive and seek vengeance, but before he could take out revenge on Valiron the tavern keeper would send Valiron back to his house and the assassins to their rooms. 
  A few days would pass by when the assassins would leave the town and pass by a farm where they would see a familiar face. Once the leader saw the face of Valiron, the one who swindled him out of all his coin and left him with only a few silvers, he knew that he had to take revenge. This would come at night when Valiron would be woken up to hear the scream of his family and see that his home was engulfed in flames. Before he could do or say anything Valiron would be ripped from his bed by the assassins and brought out side and forced to watch as his family was slaughtered and home consumed in flame and destroyed right in front of his eyes. But the worst was yet to come. The assassins would beat Valiron near to death but they would not grant him the mercy of death. The leader of the group would leave the half dead Valiron with one message, "This is what happens to those who mess with The Brothers of the Crow!!!" 
  Time would pass and physically Valiron would heal but mentally he would want only one thing, REVENGE! He would start wearing a mask that covers the lower half of his face to hide what his face looks like, as being recognized by his face is what got his family killed and home destroyed. Valiron would train for days. Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months, and months turned to years. After a few years Valiron went out seeking revenge on all branches of the Brothers of the Crow. He would first stumble across a group of the Brothers of the Crow that were gathered around a fire, and Valiron saw his opportunity to strike and took it. Unfortunately it would not take long for Valiron to be killed by the assassin group, but would he would not go to an afterlife but rather an purgatory void type realm. 
  While in this space he was approached by none other than The Matron of Ravens. She would make an offer to Valiron, she would give him the skills that he still lacked to get his full revenge and bring him back to life in return he would have to put aside all the swindling that got him into this mess and live a noble and just life. Valiron would take the deal and would then be reborn as The Gambit. 
  With his new found powers and abilities The Gambit would go around picking off groups of The Brothers of the Crow, one by one. Until only one group would remain the group with the leader of the assassin guild, who also is the very same assassin that left The Gambit for dead when he was still Valiron, and the time for revenge had arrived. The Gambit would hunt down the group and wipe out the lesser brothers before swiftly dealing with the leader. And for the first time since his family's murder took his mask off so the assassin could see his face and realize who it was that would take his life. And right before the final blow was delt The Gambit would look the killer in the eyes and proclaim, "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE WHO MESS WITH THE GAMBIT!!!"
  After this proclamation The Gambit would decapitate the assassin. However, this would not be the end. For The Gambit took the now severed head of the fallen crow, clean off and hollow out the skull, and start adoring it on his head. For this way it would serve as a warning and a reminder.
