Rhys ap Gordon, of Emerald Hills

Rhys ap Gordon, the founder of the Freehills (once an incipient shire of the S.C.A.) was the first regent of the Kingdom of the Emerald Hills. In real life Rhy’s was the husband of Queen Reyna, the first monarch. Many of his original poems were turned into songs found in the Song Book of the Freehill. His fascination with knightly honor laid the foundation for the circle of knights of the Emerald Hills. Ironically Rhy never received his own knighthood awarded as was intended by Queen Alessandra ( the second queen of the Emerald Hill) Rhy was seriously injured in a car accident three quarters of the way into Queen Reyna’s reign and never returned to the game.
