Fell Druid

The Fell Druid is a NPC created by The Bitter Coast Quest Guild for use in the ongoing Bitter Coast Quest Campaign, which has been told over several reigns.

The Fell Druid, was an isolated figure who lived along the fringes of the Bitter Coast, and would not tolerate his woods being entered by anyone he viewed as a threat. The heroes of Bitter Coast, had no reason to expel him, since he proved just as dangerous to invaders, as to them, so they left him alone for years.

One day, a Wizard, who was an initiate of the Order of the Smoldering Fist sought sanctuary in the Druid's woods from her former order-members. The Druid's Rock Golem, and the Wizard's Metal Golem fought for a brief period, but after the Druid realized that the Wizard's pursuers, were a greater threat to his woods than she was, he formed a temporary alliance with her.

The heroes of Bitter Coast, were at that time, on a quest to retrieve a magical gem, which they were told by Fibli the Dwarf would be found in the Druid's woods. They also retrieved an enchanted sword from a Dragon's lair, which at one time belonged to the Druid. Using his new alliance, he attacked the heroes in order to obtain his sword, and drive the heroes from his woods.

After the pursuing members of the Order of the Smoldering Fist stayed their hand, seeing that they were outnumbered by the heroes, the Druid, and the Golems, the Wizard escaped, leaving his Golem body-guard in the care of the Druid.

After a terrible fight (which included the Dragon returning, seeking his stolen treasure), the Druid was slain, and the Golems destroyed, which allowed the heroes to obtain the gem, which served as the heart and soul of the Metal Golem.

The woods of the Fell Druid have not been ventured into much since his death, but those who have traveled through them speak of foul creatures, who have made the woods their new home; Such is the way of the world.
