Chapter Upkeep

Details on how to assist upkeeping Chapter pages.

New Chapters

  • Use the Place Template, following the instructions on the template.
  • Contact the chapter to find out who is the current local monarchy, days they meet, and park location. Update the appropriate sections of the page.
  • Create the ORK link for the park
    • Find the ORK ID number going to the ORK, clicking on the appropriate Kingdom, then clicking the park name. Look at the address bar, the ID will be the number all the way to the left.

    • Add the following entry to the bottom of the chapter page, in the Contacts section.
      • *{{ork_chapter|index=ORK ID NUMBER}} - example *{{ork_chapter|index=36}}
    • Add any other media links such as facebook, meetup, etc..
    • Edit the categories with the appropriate information.
    • Add a category for date founded such as: [[Category: Founded in 1997]]
    • Add the park to the Kingdom Chapters template, and add a link to that template on the page. These can be found at: Category:Amtgard Chapter Templates. To create the link just enter {{KingdomName}} at the bottom of the page, directly above the list of Categories.
  • If the "People" Sub-header is red, make sure it links to Category:"Chapter Name" People, where the "Chapter Name" is replaced with the correct name. If this category doesn't yet exist, create it.

When in doubt, refer to an existing page to use as an example

Keeping Chapters Up-to-Date

Similar to creating a page.

  • Keep the current monarchy members up to date.
  • Note any changes in meeting times / locations.
  • Add any notable history.
  • If the "People" Subheader is red, make sure it links to Category:"Chapter Name" People, where the "Chapter Name" is replaced with the correct name. If this category doesn't yet exist, create it.
  • Make any other changes that may apply.
  • Add all the people with AmtWiki pages from your chapter to the above category.

Chapters that Change Kingdoms

  • Change the title entry indicating the new kingdom.
  • Make a note in the History section of the kingdom change.
  • Remove the chapter from the previous kingdom template found here Category:Amtgard Chapter Templates, and add them to the new one.
  • Change the template used on the chapter page. It is found at the bottom just above the Categories list.
  • Add the category [[Category: Former KingdomName Places]].
  • Change the other Categories to reflect the new kingdom.

Marking Inactive Chapters

  • Make a note in the times they meet section of the page stating that the park is not currently active.
  • Change the categories from Active to Defunct
  • Make a note in the history section if appropriate.

Reactivating Chapters

  • Update current monarchy, meeting times and places.
  • Change categories from Defunct to Active
  • Make a note in the history section if appropriate.
