Caleldar Elven Household
Description:
The Caleldar, or as they are technically known, í Caleldar, are an IC and OOC Household based in the Duchy of Crystal Groves. Its main purpose is as a roleplaying household, bringing together those who wish to play good-aligned elven characters in the tradition of the Eldar created by JRR Tolkien, and helping them to play elves better. They work to improve the level of play in amtgard by creating exemplary garb and weapons, and instigating as much RP as possible. They also study and use Tolkien's elvish as much as possible.
In addition to being an OOC household, they are an in-character Elven nation who fight, feast, and camp together.
History:
í Caleldar was formed in 2004 by Lord Courynn, who had recently been deposed from his position as Finvarra of the North-Eastern Elven Court. Frustrated by what he saw to be the death-spiral of the elven nation (due to internal bickering, skyrocketing drow treachery, and personal vendettas against him), he formed the household as an alternative; a replacement for those good elves who felt the NEEC was not what a proper Elven Court should be. The group officially came into being during Crystal Groves' 2004 Feast of the Dead, when drow slaughtered the elven court, put Lord Courynn on trial and removed him from office, replacing him with one of their own. Lord Courynn, and his loyal followers, officially broke with the court and reestablished themselves as í Caleldar.
