Satyr (Vincent V. M.), of Desert Winds

Most of my childhood stories start with 'When I was a little girl'... 200745_10151272937047756_789734197_n.jpg

Biography

My name is Vincent, but everyone calls me 'Satyr', and I am loud and proud in all aspects of life. I was invited to Amtgard by Kyra Kadais 7/16/2011, to the Barony of Skystone in Desert Winds. I work really hard to try and improve my game, as well as the game of those around me. I prefer the roleplaying side of Amtgard, as well as the A&S, but I involve myself in everything I can.

I am known as the Satyr of Skystone/Desert Winds, due to the reputation of my flurb persona 'Laylo'

Laylo, the Satyr of Skystone

P4090092.JPG

Born in the era of Rome's finest hour, the satyr Laylo was the pure embodiment of all things hedonistic. Hand crafted by his god, and set loose into the mortal world without rule or care, the divinely seductive creature put it into his own mind to do anything and everything he dared to desire. Now, during those long forgotten times, Rome was very much a strict, proper, and morally sound sort of place. People couldn't even LAUGH in public, so imagine the scene of corruption being sewn by such a creature.

His vanity, blatant sexual escapades, and his ever unscrupulous behavior got him noticed. Quite noticed, in fact, to warrant banishment. Simply casting him out of Rome would have done very little good, for Satyr folk are very stubborn people, so the council saw fit to hire the works of the mystics. His banishment would be carried out a couple centuries into the future.

Satyrs have no recorded life-estimates, though many tend to die due to unfortunate choices of where to become intoxicated [Like balconies, river sides, etc.], and really only seem to die from unnatural deaths. Time, unusual application of 'where not to intoxicate one's self' thinking, and cunning manipulation of sexual prowess amongst law enforcement factions brought the brilliantly seductive satyr to the here and now.

Laylo is the master of the Bumbling Bards, a a house dedicated to entertaining the masses, be it with song or dance.

Laylo's Accomplishments

  • Humped the Silver Dragon that invaded Skystone (Saturday Live 2011)
  • Poisoned half the Anti-Dragon team with oranges (Saturday Live 2011)
  • Tossed a Caber at the Billings Ren Faire & Highland Games (June 2012)
  • Humped the dragon at Dragon Blade Wars X (DBW 2012)

"Never Trust A Satyr With Fruit"

It was the day of the Dragon battle (7/2011), knights all over the kingdom were taken over by the spirit of fallen dragons (Desert Winds Dragon Spirit Reign). There were two sides to the coming battle; Those who stood with the dragon, and those who would stand against it. I, thinking it best NOT to be at the wrong end of a dragon's wrath, wisely chose to fight with it.

I was given a daunting task of sabotaging the other. It was a hot day, right in the middle of summer, so I chose my weapon carefully. I gathered the land's sweetest of oranges--- a currency in my native Rome, and I sat with the enemy. I laughed, and joked with them, peeling my oranges, and passing them out with sweet words of "Here, these will keep you hydrated, and they're good for you." I even ate some, taking in the very poison the enemy would too ingest. See, there's a little trick we satyrs have, we're immune to poisons. Well, they ate as we all spoke of how we'd destroy the dragon, and I was none the outsider, I had their trust.

The time passed, and the poison was running its course, and just as soon as the horn of battle was called (Sir Duffer Cole's Voice) they soon felt the trickery of my oranges..... Their numbers fell to half right then and there, as their blood raced and the poison took hold... Falling ill, they had no choice but to go into battle without their ill brothers and sisters..... I quickly fled.

And that, friends, is why the people of Skystone will urge you to never trust an satyr with fruit.
