History

This chapter left amtgard in 2004 and formed a separate game called Gladaeus. The game appears have gone Defunct in Late 2004.

Founded Monday November 29, 2004, Ģłαđæü§™ was created by those who were tired of the traditional ways of Amtgard, Inc.™ Politics and rule lawyers were flooding into the freeholds and various lands, baronies, duchies, and kingdoms of Amtgard™ and ruining play for many people. They may not realize it yet, but this “monarchy” is quickly becoming a dictatorship and/or pure and utter Anarchy. As far as we are concerned little sense remains in the upper ranks of the Amtgard™ hierarchy. (This is what we feel and it is fully substantiated by our own opinions…which we are entitled to. This may not be true…so do your own research and come to your own conclusion.) We also felt that Amtgard™ is way too limited on its class system and find that there are many historical and legendary classes which have so wonderfully been excluded from the list. (Oh, and the “Healers” of Amtgard™…..YOU’RE WHITE MAGES!!) There are several points of the Corpora that are left up to common sense (which, as you know, isn’t that abundant in today’s society) so we wish to make a system where everything is spelled out in nice, simple, common law, Webster’s Dictionary English. We will not be monosyllabic with you, as we feel you will find our rulebook will be simplistic in nature, yet fairly in depth. (plus writing an entire rule book in monosyllabic phrases would be all too difficult and make little sense.) We have basically begun a pilgrimage into the unknown depths of the imagination and free thought to find a perfected fantasy realm in which all LARP fans may engage in fantasy battles where very, very few matters are disputable.

They got as far as designing a system of Titles, but there is no Corpora, and no Rulebook.

  • Battle Chieftain; This title can only be obtained through dueling. It is obtained when a member of a fighting class obtains 50 consecutive wins. If he/she should die any time in the middle, the count resets to 0. The scribe is in charge of keeping track of fighters records.
  • The Untouchable; This title can only be obtained through dueling. It is obtained when a member of a fighting class obtains 50 consecutive wins. If he/she should die any time in the middle, the count resets to 0. The scribe is in charge of keeping track of fighters records.
  • Captain of the Guard; This title can only be obtained through a 2 on 1 handicap match. The fighter either successfully defeats both opponents, or survives(doesn't die)for two minutes against them. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the Royal Guardmen during royal events. The scribe is in charge of keeping track of fighters records.
  • Royal Guardsmen ; This title can only be obtained through dueling. A fighter must obtain 10 consecutive wins, and then enter a best 5 out of 9 duel with their Land Master. These individuals will be responsible for protecting the King and any other presiding figure of authority during royal events. During these events, they take orders only from the King and the Captain of the Guard. The scribe is in charge of keeping track of fighters records.
  • Master of (Weapon) ;This title can only be obtained through dueling. It is obtained when a member of a fighting class obtains 30 consecutive wins using the same type of weapon.
