Iron Springs History

Sir Squeak!, after leaving the Kingdom of Emerald Hills, ventured eastward in pursuit of knowledge. Legend told of the absolute wealth of it to be found in the towers to the south of the Central Eastern Alliance and north of the Kingdom of Neverwinter. While in pursuit of her studies she came to settle in a nearby land. Rich deposits found in the local hills and streams lead to the name Iron Springs, and it is said that just as the sun sets on the land the waters turns a crimson red.

Under the charismatic leadership of Sir Squeak! people began moving to this area and built it into a shire with strong nobles.

With such plentiful iron ore, people began plotting to overrun Iron Springs and take it for their own. Seeing that Iron Springs needed more protection in such situations, and that it had much to offer the realm in terms of trade, it joined the Central Eastern Alliance. The Alliance wished to later form a kingdom and as such was sponsored by the Kingdom of Neverwinter and became the principality of Winter's Edge, giving Iron Springs ties to the kingdom of Neverwinter as well.

After years of research at the towers it was time for Sir Squeak! to return to her homeland. People slowly began to leave the shire and soon various tribes strove for dominance over the iron rich hills until one day a hero returned. Cade had once learned the ways of leadership and fighting from Sir Squeak! herself and determined to set things right. He called on others and with their help he reestablished order and law in a land that the principality had thought lost forever.

The new settlement of Iron Springs may now be found to the north of the older ruins where the iron is even more plentiful and it is closer to trade routes with Winter's Edge.
