Formed officially at the Tenth Year celebration during the Gathering of the Clans in 1993, the Green Dragons originally were formed under the auspices of an Amtgard Household known as The House of the Green Dragon and Purple Cow, with a significant number of its members actively assuming sub-membership in the Green Dragon Guard.
As most groups do, the Green Dragons outgrew the status of Household and assumed the status of Fighting Company in order to clarify loyalties with the many fighting companies that had members within the Household.
Over the years, the company has stayed close-knit and boasts members (and former members)ranked among Amtgard's best and brightest, as well as notorious and infamous. Since its formation, all but two of its Knights are and have continued to be not only active, but augment the game and organization as a whole.
