Now, Sir Nevron left his home in El Paso and started a group that became the Emerald Hills in Dallas.

That's nice and all, but incorrect. Nevron lived in many places during his duty in the Navy and was living in Dallas when the EH was started, he didn't just leave his home for the soul purpose of founding a kingdom outside of El Paso. This is also a gross injustice to the hard work of the other Emerald Hills founders who crossed over from the SCA.

Nevron was also exclusively knighted by the EH for all 4 of his belts- he did not move with them.

There's not point in even mentioning him by name. Just say something like "Around the same time the FreeHills Rebels formed the kingdom of the Emerald hills"

Gee thanks, litch. We love you, too. Thariand, Adept of the Blue Star (just in case there's someone recognizes the name). And for the record, HFS and Amtgard remain extremely similar. Barad Duin was the first chapter of Amtgard formed outside of El Paso. Due to a number of reasons, it split from Amtgard a number of years later and formed the HFS. That group thrived for a while and even began expanding, but then some political difficulties compounded by the departure of many long-time members led to first stagnation and then decline. Around that time, a number of friends of mine began a new chapter locally affiliated with Amtgard (the name, Torimar indicates it was built on the ruins of Barad Duin). That chapter has since grown and thrived. (There is also a group that meets in Round Rock, last time I went anyway, which was about a year ago.) Probably more history than most were interested in. :) And if you want to throw more insults, Litch, I was one of the first ten who started that very first Amtgard group here way back when. And my personal opinion? HFS has been in decline for years now. The local Amtgard folks have lost a lot of their emphasis and interest in both role-playing and arts & sciences. Still, I'm considering going back out so my older son can play.
