Directions

Ravenwing regularly holds meetings every Sunday between 2:00pm and 5:00pm near the upper parking lot pavilions at Mohawk Park, Brantford, Ontario.

To get to the park, take the Wayne Gretzky Parkway exit from Highway 403 and head South. When you reach Colborne Street East, continue straight ahead onto Park Road South. Turn right on Glenwood Drive, and the park entrance is the first street on the left.

History

Ravenwing is a Shire which founded in April 2004. The name was chosen by pulling words out of a hat until there was a combination accepted by all the founders. They held their first inter-group event, Raven's Call, on August 14-15 2004, and it went over so well that it was requested to be made into an annual event. Their next event on Febuary 12-13 Events in 2005 was Ditch Til Dawn, an all night charity event which raised over $600 for the Tsunami Relief Fund through the Red Cross. After that they held their second annual Raven's Call on August 12-14 Events in 2005, with a total of 34 attendees, only 11 of which were local (remember, this is a Shire event). On January 4-5 Events in 2006 they held their first winter event, Raven's Frost, which also became annual. Around the end of May Events in 2006, the shire had a great increase in numbers, setting them on the road towards becoming a Barony. July 21-23 Events in 2006 brought the third Raven's Call with 21 local players and a total of 41 attendees. The shire was officially sponsored by the Kingdom of Goldenvale in August Events in 2006. Their most recent event was Raven's Frost 2007, which was held from January 5-7 Events in 2007, and had 30 attendees. Currently they are striving towards Barony status, and pride themselves in being the second largest (known) Amtgard group in Canada.
