Donate to Amtwiki
I highly appreciate everything everyone does for the Wiki in terms of adding content, the best way you can help the Amtwiki is by contributing there to help make it the best repository of information available.
That being said, success comes with its own price, and the cost of keeping the Amtwiki running has steadily increased as its content and traffic has increased. With that in mind, I asked awhile back how people would feel about allowing contributions to the Amtwiki, by that I mean monetary contributions. I am hesitant to take this step, but based on the feedback I received I am going ahead. Now, this is going to be done with a few stipulations:
- All funds collected will be used only for the monthly costs (to the ISP) of keeping the Amtwiki running.
- Donors will be made public unless they express the desire to not be so, and will be listed on a donors page. If you wish to contribute anonymously please indicate so on the donation page (accessed via the button below).
- The total of all contributions will be kept posted here, as will the monthly costs.
- I want it made clear that other than being listed here and thanked for so doing, donating will not give anyone any rights within the amtwiki beyond that of any other user. Like anyone else you can have your own page protected from general editing, but it will not allow you to violate various style and content guidelines we have used here (e.g., cannot list titles not recognized by amtgard, cannot force deletion of content, etc)
- lastly, I humbly thank anyone who feels motivated after all that to contribute.
- The donation button goes to my personal (Andrew Apold) paypal account, I might see about creating one with amtwiki's name on it in the near future, but for now anything sent via that button will be identified and tracked as such (I don't use paypal for much anyway so it won't get mixed into things).

If the above donation button looks like a bunch of html, use this link. and if that doesn't work, just go to [paypal.com paypal.com] and send to my email andrew(dot)apold(at)gmail(dot)com and put amtwiki in the description.
donors - people who have made donations or contributions to Amtwiki.
update - we are now funded for a full year (from april 2009), thanks to someone who asked to remain anonymous. We've also transitioned to another host with a more reasonable hosting plan. Costs work out to less than $25/month now, a huge improvement.
2010 update - added google adsense ads to see if they can generate any revenue to help. If you're feeling generous and you see an ad that is appropriate for here, you could click on one of them on occasion. If you see anything inappropriate (e.g., anything inappropriate for minors) please let me know asap so I can make sure they don't show up.
2010 update 2 - Google Adsense did not work. The account built up to around $70 (they don't pay out until it reaches $100) when Google decided that they had detected "improper activity" and closed the account (refunding money to advertisers). This is apparently a common practice at google, which helps them keep their advertisers happy and money going to them. There was an appeal form but they warned that they don't contact you regarding the results if they find no reason to change their mind. Its been a couple months, we can assume they are not going to. (and I hear they almost never do anyway).
Anyway the last two donations back in July floated us through October, I picked up that month, and we are now in needs of funds again.
