- 1.1 I as first introduced to Amtgard in March 1996 when I was approached by a classmate, Jack Gilbert (Maegus) about joining a live-action medieval fighting game called Amtgard. I went out the first Sunday of that month and watched. After 30 minutes of watching, I decided I wanted to try it out. I never set out to do anything but fight (which will show in my awards, hehe) but I enjoyed it until too many people decided to make a **ssing contest out of it. So I left the group and I'd still like to do it but I can't deal with the politics
