Notable Quote
"I may not agree with you, but I will listen to what you say. No matter how wrong you are."
History
Zemya=snake, Ukus=bite in the medieval Bela Russian dialect. At that time my ancestors were still Norse pagans (though to them Christians were the pagans). In the Norse belief a snake was not evil but rather viewed as a protector animal whose bite was its sword. And some myths about Kiev talk about the great serpent that guarded the city from the infidel Saracens(oops). Now before you all go Beowulf, Grendel, and Midgard Serpent on me- they were a epic hero, a monster, and a Great Wyrm(or dragon).
As an aside concerning the real Norsemen, there is some archaeological evidence that the Berserkers were actually a Norse warrior/monk/priest. They may have found their monastery on a island in the north sea. That may explain why they hacked up Christian clergy- sort of a Norse jihad.
My persona is a Russian mercenary from that era who was formerly in service to Prince Alexander Nevsky. The guy who wiped out the Teutonic Knights, beat up the Polish Army, and chased the Mongols back across the steppes. In short, he was a for real badass that unified a lot of the Russians of that time. The wolf was one of his units symbol. I left his service in rather a hurry one night. How was I to know she was Prince Alexander's niece?
Theory's on Zemya Ukus's True Ancestors
Due to his fondness for playing a Fire Giant, his size (6' 6"),and his passion for spicy food, it is many peoples theory that his true ancestry is from the Norse Fire Giants. It is also theorized that he is descended from Norse Dwarves due to his passion for weapons making and enjoyment of a quality brew. In the dwarven ancestor theory his height size is due to a pituitary gland disorder- he really should only be 3'8" tall.
Another legend has it that he is really an illegitmate squire who was raised by Sir Ke-She.
Service Record
Service History

While his brother squire Raven Dracul has excelled in the arts, he has gone into the engineering realm with white weapons.
The Fenris Experiment
Models and Construction
The Fenris Experiment was literally his first jaunt into siege weapon construction. After building a couple of scale models, one of which sits on a shelf in his knight's office, he started construction on the full scale model. There are reports of mad cackles and many test firings in the front yard as Fenris was put together.
Test Firing in Battle
At Esoum III mid reign, Fenris was carted out to the battlefield for a test run. The battle consisted of two sides inside castle walls and a bridge. The firing crew, led by the gunnery sergeant Shadow Weaver, fired fireballs and rocks onto the bridge. Numerous casualties ensued.
Spring War Performance
At Spring War XVII (2009) the Silver Wolves, with the catapult, were assigned to assist the Wetland invaders aka the "Crusaders" who were attacking the Saracens and their allies. The king of the Wetlands honored the Silver Wolves by firing off the 1st shot during the attack on the castle. The silver wolves did manage to breech the wall during the 2nd part of the siege. Unfortunately, the catapult was firing foam-rubber armaments into a fairly strong headwind. If you've ever tossed a nerf-ball into a strong wind you probably noticed that it will not go very far. It was at this time that the throwing arm snapped. To break a 4inch by 4inch by 8 foot long chunk of wood takes quite a bit of energy and stress. At the time the catapult had over (estimated) 800ft lbs of energy applied to the arm. Even with this the Silver Wolves managed to inflict several casualties on the castle defenders- along with 1 friendly fire incident where a Wetlander got nailed with a boulder. Even though the catapult was a "casualty of war" I feel the Silver Wolves acquitted themselves well in the battle game. Borrowing from the naval tradition of turning aircraft carriers into reefs, Fenris the catapult is now a flower planter in the Old' Woman of the Woods garden.

The New Weapon
The current weapon of choice is a seige cross bow (aka the Ballista). It has gone through a couple of refinements that have increased the range and power. Let's put it this way. If your within 100 yds you might get tagged by him.
