From The Stick Jock’s Dictionary – Traditionally members of the Chosen burn service awards in court, as a sign that the service they provided was done out of love rather than in expectation of reward. This particular tradition is not always well received.

This tradition has now caught on with many stickjocks across Amtgard

hmmm, if i remember right, arthon and drakknar told me that they did it because nothing but a warrior was worth anything, or something like that. I remember logan and i giving one of them a lion, and they burned it. /shrug We just figured it was their thing, and put it in the records anyway. pubear
