Westerric is a mortal human warrior with no magical ability. He relies on an ancient Sith artifact to cast any magic.
His facial scars are from a Drow serpent whip, They wax and wane and are probably cursed. He wears four spider eyes that are a symbol of some dark sense of honor and loyalty. But not to the Drow, I hate Drow...
