The Duchy
A Chapter
What is a Duchy?
A duchy is an Amtgard chapter larger than a Barony and smaller than a Principality. Generally average attendance for a Duchy would be around 30 to 40 people on a weekly basis. A duchy must hold an average attendance of 30 people during a six month period in order to retain it's status.
What can a Duchy do?
A Duchy is typically allowed to give ladder awards up to the 6th level. A duchy is not allowed to bestow titles of nobility.
Leadership
The elected leader of a Duchy is a Duke or Duchess. Other offices that may or may not be filled due to the needs of the park are Regent, Prime Minister or Chancellor and Champion. Most of these offices are voted on, with the exception of the Champion, who is chosen by right of arms.
