Siege engines such as ballista are the most obvious category of Siege weapons, but certain monsters also do siege damage, such as dragons.
A hit from a siege engine to you or any part of your equipment on you kills you dead. This means if you are fighting a dragon which swings a claw at you and you block it, you are dead.
