The Village Dwarves are a NPC Organization created by The Bitter Coast Quest Guild for use in the ongoing Bitter Coast Quest Campaign, which has been told over several reigns.
A small village lies within Bitter Coast's borders, inhabited by a small number of craftsmen, and weaponsmiths from a nearby Dwarven Kingdom. They maintain neutrality in the affairs of Bitter Coast, and only wish to peacefully sell their wares. Fibli the Dwarven weaponsmith once lived in this village.
- HISTORY
Originally from a mighty Dwarven Kingdom in a distant mountain range, several small communities of Dwarves have spread out, setting up weapon and armor shops, where they make and sell their wares.
One such community came to Bitter Coast, and set up a small village, consisting of a few shops and homes. A total of four warriors consisted of the village militia, and they were led by their aged, but wise patriarch.
Declaring themselves neutral in the affairs of war and politics in the human world, they never got involved with the intrigue and adventure which the heroes of Bitter Coast had to involve themselves in, and simply sought to make an honest profit by selling the weapons and armor that Dwarves were famous for making.
Unknown to the small Dwarven village, several events had recently transpired, which would be disastrous to the community. The Elven Civil War had broken out in a neighboring region, and Darva had become influenced by a powerful entity called The Warlich of Control. Darva (influenced by the Warlich), believing that to secure his Barony, certain threats needed to eliminated, mustered the army and destroyed both the Marauders, and The Voidstalker along with his undead minions.
Darva; however, was not satisfied with simply removing the obvious threats, but insisted that every party in the Barony swear loyalty to him. Immediately after the destruction of The Voidstalker, Darva and the Bitter Coast army traveled to the Dwarven Village, and demanded that the Dwarves submit to the Barony.
The Dwarves were confused, and when the village patron tried to reason with the possessed monarch, he ordered them all killed. It was Lord Phadec Kell, who single-handedly slew the Dwarf Elder, and his guards (who were disarmed by Darva's order during the negotiations).
The Dwarven village was razed, it's surviving inhabitants expelled from the Barony, and the weapons and armor contained in the village were added to the Bitter Coast armory.
Thus ended the Dwarven Village of Bitter Coast.
