What Lurks Below
Ever since Dungeons & Dragons first came out, the concept of exploring underground passages for treasure has captivated nerds everywhere. And with such films as the Hobbit trilogy and books like the Drizzt series, these concepts have become entrenched tropes within the genre. Even one of the very first interactive video games, Zork, is all about this concept. The Lord of the Rings captivated us with the fallen Moria and the horrors that lurked in the depths (not to mention in the pond outside).
What Lurks Below attempts to capture this idea so that you might take them back to your Amtgard chapter and bring them to life, creating lasting memories and engaging your populace as never before. Inside you will find horrific beasts from beneath the earth. There are things better left forgotten and evil destroyers intent on enslaving all of civilization. You’ll also find suggestions on how to bring all these things forth from the page and into your weekly battlegames - or even large-scale, Kingdom-level events of epic proportions capable of entertaining hundreds. Now, settle in for a bit, kick back and let the inspiration wash away the boredom of another plain old battlegame.
Just make sure your light doesn’t go out. It is very dark. You are likely to be eaten by a Grue.
