Policies List · Guidelines List |
AmtWiki keeps a database of the many people who have played Amtgard in any part of its history. These pages are a specific type of pages within the main namespace that are usually referred to simply as player pages. This page lists the guidelines editors should follow when creating or editing a player page.
Contents
Creating player pages
Any person who has participated in Amtgard may have a player page. Users other than the player themselves may create a page for other players, in the manner of other article.
A person may only have one page with themselves as the subject, even if they have multiple in-game personas. Alternate names of people, including the names of alternate personas, may instead redirect to the main page.
It should go without saying that people have final say in what they wish to be included in the textual and pictorial information of their page. However, player pages are still subject to the policies and guidelines that govern the rest of AmtWiki.
When creating a page, players should use the Player Entry Template for the layout of their page.
Title
The title of the article should only include the name of their Amtgard persona, either with or without a surname. Any titles earned in Amtgard should be placed in the appropriate places in the body of the page, no in the title of the article.
Belted line
Players who are a member of a beltline line should add the appropriate template. These can be found in Category:Beltline Templates.
Notable accomplishments
This section should list any notable accomplishments earned by a person in Amtgard, including awards and leadership positions. Information is usually presented in list form, either chronologically or grouped by type.
Ladder award listings as copied from the ORK are not proper content for AmtWiki, as the wiki is not intended to be a legitimate source for ladder award verification. Keeping ladder awards listed leads to over editing and inaccurate information without near-constant editing.

Make sure to place player pages in the appropriate categories.
Deleting player pages
Player pages must follow the same deletion policy as all AmtWiki articles. However, special care should be taken when handling player pages, as most represent living persons.
The person who is the subject of an article may at any time request that their page be deleted for whatever reason. However, in certain situations, players pages may not be deleted, or certain information must remain.
Knights
Personal pages of knights may not be removed. They are considered a part of club history, and are used to keep track of knight statistics. All information apart from details about the player's knighthood may be removed upon request.
Players stripped of honors
Players that have been stripped of honors due to disciplinary action may not have the information on their page removed. Player pages about stripped players should be included in the category Stripped players.
Banned players
Players who have been banned by any kingdom may not have the information on their page removed for the duration of their ban. After the ban has been lifted, the relevant information can be removed.
Players who are permanently banned by any kingdom cannot have their information removed from the wiki. Player pages about permanently banned players should be included in the category Banned Players
