The Spartans of the Rhye focus on phalanx work and military tactics. To join all you have to do is ask, and you will be given a difficult test to prove yourself worthy of calling yourself a Spartan. We are very rank-based and follow a strict chain of command. Call Redav at (757) 813-0982

Ranks of the Spartans

The Spartans are very rank-based. Each rank has a corresponding greek name. The ranks are as follows.

- Company Commander/Strategos

- Company Executive Officer/Polemarch

- Company Officer/Enomotarch

- Company Sergeant/Hyperetes

- Company Full Member/Tetrarch

- Company Petitioning Member/Ephebe

Promotions

To get promoted in the SOTR you have to work hard and prove yourself to the commanders. When a position opens up you might get it. To become a full member you must petition the company for three to six months and undergo the Hoplite Academy or Agoge and receive your hoplite certification. If you are unable to attend a Hoplite Academy, you may have months added to your period of petitioning in order to make up for it.
