Actually, the split did not occur on the basis of weapon weight nor do we believe that using light weapons is cheating and not everyone in our park uses heavy weapons.  The people in our park believe in honor, courage, fighting style, and most importantly having fun.  We are not overly concerned about winning the game or the way we are dressed and we could care less about titles or awards.  We work as a team on almost everything we do in Amtgard and we practice doing team fighting on a regular basis.  The split was unfortunate, but when those in power ignore the wishes of the majority of the populace and change everything drastically then the populace that does not agree have a tendancy to leave.  Most of the people who left Ashen Hills had been there for 5 years or longer, leaving mostly newer players who liked the more "competative, sport-like atmoshpere" of the game.  Ashen Hills and Expendia can continue to fight together, it was proven at Discord...we just don't have the same basic values of the game (just my opinion) and therefore can not spend a lot of time practicing together.  ~Kate

Email [email protected]; this looks like a split from Ashen Hills --Linden 08:41, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

Expendia is a step in the wrong direction, but I have always been a mediator so I have spent my entire Amtlife getting people together to play more. If a new park is what it takes for Cam and company to have fun, fine. The only risk you run is that bigwigs in a far off land take enough interest to make you not official or something. But really that doesn't matter, no one can enforce that stuff to a degree that matters. I would urge you to just arrange a heavy weapon game at Ashen Hills, hell sit out of the normal games if you want, but I don't see splitting parks as being a solution here. -nameless

This is a confirmed split from Ashen hills, primarily because the Expendia people want to use and have all those in their park use heavy weapons. They believe that using light weapons is cheating. --Linden 19:18, 30 March 2008 (EDT)

~Kate 05/01/08 5:33 p.m.
