There once was a man, a cruel young man
Who lived beside the sea
Where six young ladies he drowned
For the lonely willow tree

One day he saw a little girl
And he said, "She belongs with me"
Only to be turned away by the voice
Of the lonely willow tree

I've been so alone, and all six maidens
Were flawed from head to feet
If you wish for peace and happiness
Then give this one to me

So the man walked up to this fair young girl
Luring her to the sea
Feeding her words from a poet's lips
Underneath the willow tree

Aren't you the man oft talked about
In the town of Augustine
Where six young daughters were taken away
To this frightening willow tree

Just as the words escaped her lips
A horrid sight did she see
Six dead girls danced hand in hand
Around the willow tree

With eyes affright, she shoved him in
To the freezing embrace of the sea
And no one wept for this poor young man
Save the lonely willow tree

No, no one wept for this poor young man
Save the lonely willow tree
