Armor Points

Armor grants an advantage in combat by protecting the wearer from physical strikes. This is referred to as Armor Points.

Each Hit Location is assigned its own Armor Point value based on the armor it’s benefiting from. Strikes to armor only affect the armor point value of the Hit Location that is struck. For instance, striking the sleeve of a chainmail shirt only affects the arm location.

When armor is struck, the victim loses one armor point in the affected hit location instead of suffering a Wound. Armor reduced to 0 does not protect against strikes while it remains at 0.

Armor present on a wounded Hit Location will continue to function and protect against further blows as long as it has armor points to do so. Template:V9 Universal Armor Rules (Gameplay)
