Maccalus was inactive in Amtgard for a little more than ten years, before returning to the fold and helping [[Jaden]] co-found the Freehold of [[Five Banners]] in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2008. Maccalus served as that Freehold's first chief (equivalent of Sheriff) from 2007-2008.
