Since then he has thrown himself into the game as he does the rest of his life, with little regard for his personal safety or sanity. He tries so hard.

| − | Once known as Shosuro Nagato, Jiang grew up in the lands of Rokugan. Details about his younger life say he graduated from the Shosuro Infiltrator school but these "rumor's" come from less than reputable sources, eta no less. Notably true he was the cousin and trustee to the Scorpion Clan daimyo, Bayushi Shoju. At this time the Scorpion had come to believe that an ancient prophecy long held by their clan, the Prophesies of Uikku, indicated the last emperor will be the source of a consuming evil that will destroy Rokugan. Bayushi Shoju was convinced the the 38th Hantai was this person, and for the greater good of Rokugan, Bayushi Shoju acts on these beliefs, leading the entire Scorpion Clan into a carefully planned assault on Otosan Uchi, killing his liege, the 38th Hantei, claiming the throne, and preparing the Imperial capitol of Otosan Uchi against the siege of the amassed armies of the Lion, Unicorn, Crane, and Pheonix Clans.

| − | Shosuro Nagato, in duty, found himself leading many attacks against the seiging armies, butt for over a week with the Scorpion and the other Clans seemed in stalemate. Oddly the Phoenix clan retreated, however the Crab legions arrived. Everyone stood their ground as Hida Kisada's decision would define the victor. The added fortification of Crab on the walls of Otosan Uchi would ensure victory for the Scorpion, however if the Crab assisted the other clans, the siege of Otosan Uchi would prove successful. The week prior the Scorpion were unable to get messengers out of the city and so Emperor Shoju assigned his cousin, Shosuro Nagato to insure the Crab Clan's daimyo's forces assisted the Scorpion Emperor. In a great distraction devised by the Scorpion Emperor, Shosuro Nagato escapes the city and was able to approach the Crab legions and request they join the Scorpion Emperor. The Crab Clan daimyo, Hida Kisada, in turn feeling that the Scorpion were weak for asking their assistance, decided to assist the "stronger willed" armies of the Lion, Unicorn and Crane.

| − | Shosuro Nagato returned to the Scorpion emperor a failure, requesting he be allowed seppuku but is denied that honor as Emperor Shoju saw a better use of the young Shosuro beyond that of death. As the assault played out the Emperor ordered Shosuro Nagato and many other ranking Scorpion militants to the northern gate to meet the Crab head on; the Crab focus on the Northern Gate was a trick devised by the Clans to avert Scorpion attention, allowing Akodo Toturi, the Lion Clan daimyo, to sneak into the Palace through the Southern gate, and finally kill the Scorpion Emperor. Because Shosuro Nagato was outside the city fighting the Crab, he was able to escape the wrath of the clans within the city along with a few other ranking Scorpion. Sadly they watched in horror as their clan was absorbed into the unbroken line of Hantai, as the heir had escaped their carefully planned assault, and returned at the front of the Phoenix army. With his family absorbed and their mission a failure Nagato dropped his old name and took on a gaijin name, Jiang Hai Chuan, and began to roam the world until a time when he may return, when the Clans and Empire recognize the sacrifice the Scorpion maintained to defend Rokugan, and hopefully prevent the prophecy.

| − | Time goes on and he found himself in the gaijin realm of Amtgard, Jiang Hai Chuan befriends Shaitan, ([[Spoon]]) a curious warrior familiar with the code of Bushido, the code by which Jiang once lived. Wishing to realise why this gaijin recognized honor he came to Querna Tema where Sheitan lived and met his friend Raion no [[Kupe]]. Recognizing he was once a Crab Clan warrior, Jiang revealed his true nature to the crab and offered him his service. Kupe was hesitant at first but eventually accepted. A retainer to [[Clan Raion]] Kupe introduced the Scorpion to the honorable family. Seeking to regain his honor for past failures, Jiang sought serve and defend this family by offering his services to their daimyo.

| − | The Scorpion tail stabbing the Crab claw represents the customs of the Scorpion Clan still burning in Jiang. However training with Raion no [[Kupe]], a former member of the Crab Clan, has altered his fighting style to mimic the courageous Crab warriors of the wall. It is for this reason the Crab claw in turn is crushing down on the Scorpion Claw. Jiang's mon represents an internal struggle to leave behind his past and grab hold of his future.
