In addition to workshops and classes offered at Amtgard, there are many places to learn sewing outside of Amtgard. Here are some suggestions
- Fabric stores often offer sewing classes of many levels and topics. Check your local fabric store for class offerings, times and costs.
- Local Community Colleges often offer relatively cheap classes for many arts and crafts. Check your local community college for availability.
- Local universities often offer many arts and crafts classes. If you are a student, you may be able to take them as electives.
- Continuing educations / Fun Ed / Options classes - Many universities offer fun extra (non-credit) classes available to the public in a variety of topics, usually including arts and crafts. Check your local university for details. These classes usually are taught on campus by university affiliates.
- Road shows - There quite a few traveling road shows that offer classes and workshops.
