Founded in 1998, Lyon's Tomb was originally a Shire of the Kingdom of the Emerald Hills located in Indianapolis, IN. Another Shire from the Kingdom of the Golden Plains was also located in Indianapolis, IN; and in June 1998, the two parks merged together to form the Barony of the Valley of the Rising Winds under the Kingdom of the Emerald Hills; making Lyon's Tomb one of the founding shires of the Rising Winds. Unfortunately this group existed before the ORK and no online records of it survive. The Valley of the Rising Winds was later renamed to Gryphon's Perch as the name became the name of the new Kingdom that formed from the Valley of the Rising Winds, now just Rising Winds, and other Indiana shires. The park was later re-opened as an annex of Gryphon's Perch by Tarkington Erevan, Kalig Nos, RIHOD O'doyle, and Medeezian in 2002 and remained active until 2003.
