No word on what Bal here is knighted in. Any one know?

All, though I know this does not mean much to the conversation other than to clarify from a GV knight who was present what truly happened.

Quoted from an Email from Sir Liz of Goldenvale

"but I can state for the record that only PART of that was true. Balthazar was not drunk. And he was very aware of what he was doing. He knew he would piss off a whole lot of people. People who had given a lot to the game, to the organization and to Goldenvale. He was one of the founding members of Goldenvale.

We had a mid-reign in a basement in someones house. It was a partially finished basement that was used by the family that owned the house. We had that because it was what was available. (We couldn't get a hall on the short notice that was being dealt with. It was December and all of the halls in our area were already booked for Christmas time)

Anyways.. In GV our Monarch drops the sword and not the GMK or the CoK. It has been seen as bad form if the monarch doesn't come to the CoK for their input, but they don't have to. Which is the case here. The knights AND populace of Goldenvale were all blindsided. No one saw this coming. We were aware of only 1 knighting that was supposed to happen.

Balthazar felt that there was too much politics in our circle, and that the CoK ruled the monarch. It is felt that he wanted to *stick it* to the the circle by knighting 3 people that weren't on the radar. Sirs Thorvald, Pollux and Balthor. There was a personal vendetta in there to boot. Which, of course, sucks, but it happens. Unfortunately, ALL of Goldenvale took the hit for the actions of one King. Who then, after his term was over, left office and left the game. In hindsight, I suppose that we could have stripped the 3 belts, But we didn't. I know that most of us sat down with each of them and had talks about responsibility and all that.

Anyways... so part of what was said below is true. part of it was not true. I was there and would be happy to answer most questions on it, if there are any. However, in response to that incident, now the CoK and the incoming monarch generally have a sit down at the beginning of each reign and hammer out how they will deal with what is on the table for each term. It's not perfect, but aside from changing our corpora, it's been ok. A work in progress.

Best Regards, Sir Liz of Goldenvale
