Biography
Raten began fighting at the age of fourteen in Dagorhir in Medina, Ohio. In 2012 he was introduced to Amtgard and never looked back. He and his friend Dirk Ravenholm created the Shire of Terrier's Run in 2014.
In 2015 Raten returned to his home town of Medina where he founded Emerald Glades
Backstory
Raten Firewalker was the first of two sons born to retired adventurers Admorin and Sharlete Firewalker. For most of Raten's childhood he lived a normal life, until him home village was raided by orcs. The village was ill-prepared for such and attack, so Admorin and Sharlete took up arms to defend their home. When the battle ended both were dead along with the orcs, and Raten and his brother, Braxon, were orphaned.
Admorin's brother, Deidro, took the two children into his home. Raten and Braxon had differing opinions about their uncle. While Braxon was regaled by the tails of the adventures and dragons, Raten never felt at home, especially with his uncle essentially replacing his father.
In hopes of keeping Raten out of trouble, Deidro sent Raten to a wizard's academy, and while Raten did have a gift for the arcane arts, he left the school after a year to attempt to honor his parents memories by becoming an adventurer like they were.
