Service General Piper Lesonette of Kabal
Piper didn't start out as a pirate, she did belong to the household Black Rose, under a different name, Nene. The house consisted of a wide variety of creatures; there was a couple of drow, including herself, a dragon, an orc, a vampire or two. Black Rose took a lot of flak, and the matriarch was constantly doing things to get them attacked. They found themselves targeted many times, often by the Kabal, ironically. Black Rose fell apart, disbanded because their leader was selfish and useless. And the remnants of the group decided to board with Captain Jack Cross and sail the open seas with him and his crew, who welcomed them and appreciated the extra hands on board that were definately put to use.
It was a little bit awkward at first, made clear by the group's new leader, General Ardith Tallinu "since when do drow like water?" Nene, however, adapted easily, and soon grew to love the salty air, the rowdy (to say the very least) habits of the pirates she accompanied, the coziness of the small cabin that had been prepared for her, and even the massive amounts of work that you find yourself doing on a ship. Also she never found herself on the stern of the ship leaning over the taffrail sacrificing her supper after too much mead to the sea. She figured that was a good sign that maybe this was the life for her. So she changed her name to Piper Lesonette, made herself comfortable, and stayed on long after the crew had gone their own way. She still keeps in touch with them, albeit difficult more often than not.
On one of the dockings to attend an event at Crystal Groves, however, Piper found herself a little over imbibed, and woke up in a nearby drow camp, whose members were also attending the feast, away from her shipmates. She was panicked, as she'd never been in this situation before, also the place was just way too dark and confined compared to the seas. (OOC: Most BassAckwards Drow you'll ever meet...) She tried to escape more than once, in the beginning, but was always restrained by a tall, menacing Drow who seemed to get a lot of respect around there, a leader of some sort. He kept her locked up until he was sure that the party she had been traveling with had long gone. He wasn't the type, though, to leave her locked up alone. He brought her food, drink, clothing, and kept her company until she was comfortable enough with him that he was sure she wouldn't run, but would stay and at least see how things were run. As if this "kidnapping" weren't strange enough, Piper decided that she would stay. She decided that she liked it there, and could adapt there as easily as she had the ship.
She soon discovered the tall, commanding Drow's name, but he is referred to as Bowlgod, since very few know his real name and it is to be kept that way. He was, at the time, the leader of the combat section of this group, the Kabal. The same that had made their lives hell years before. He has since become the Kommander, and Proconsul. Why he took her is his own story, maybe he'll tell it. Piper still doesn't know what made her decide to stay there, after being taken from a life she loved, and being kept from going back, but she has made a name for herself in this underground city, having now earned the rank of General in Service for keeping certain operations more often than not running smoothly and making sure they are respected in at least one area. She doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon, and is to be wed to Bowlgod. She still considers herself a pirate, and acts upon it from time to time but that's no one's business but her own. She misses the seas but still goes out on the random excursion here and there.
