Location
Midnight Sun meets at Troth Ablon Park in Garland, Texas, on Saturdays around 1:30 p.m. and usually plays until dark.

History
The original Midnight Sun was a freehold that absorbed the Shire of Black and Tan and the Barony of Barwick, becoming the Duchy of the Midnight Sun. Over time, the Midnight Sun waxed and waned, both receiving many members of the original Ironcloud and later contributing to the formation of a new Ironcloud. It had a rocky history of with the Kingdom of the Emerald Hills, sometimes co-existing peacefully, other times embroiled in bitter controversy over the group's indendence. The Duchy of the Midnight Sun sought and received support from the Kingdom of Dragonspine and the Kingdom of the Golden Plains at various times, especially for the signing of major awards. The Duchy at one time had a sub-group, the Shire of the Howling Winds, based on the locale of the University of Texas at Dallas. Some within the Duchy sought Principality status, perhaps under an outlying kingdom, but the idea did not garner outside support and the idea was eventually discarded.
The Duchy, faced with mounting pressure from the Kingdom of the Emerald Hills, debated joining the Kingdom or remaining independent. A new park government declared the Midnight Sun to be an Independent Kingdom, only to be pressured into resigning. The new regime repudiated the Midnight Sun's brief existence as a kingdom. The Midnight Sun held a referendum and the populace voted in favor of joining the Kingdom. The group joined the Emerald Hills as the Grand Duchy of the Midnight Sun. As Kingdom Monarch, Squeak! undertook a standardization of the group corporas and rules clarifications that were in use, and thereafter the group was simply known as the Duchy of the Midnight Sun and used the standard Kingdom Corpora.
In later years, the Midnight Sun's numbers declined, and the group voluntarily downgraded to the status of a Barony. It has since remained a Barony, both in recognition that a park's population rises and falls over time, and with the general belief of the populace that the unity of Kingdom is improved when major awards come from the Kingdom.
