Persona Backstory

Maredudd was born to Iefan Goch and Rhiannon, a wealthy family of the Canton of Mathom Trove and spent the first few years of life in the lap of luxury. At the age of 5 his family was brutally murdered by a horde of marauders seeking the wealth of Mathom Trove. The bandits left nothing alive with the exception of little Maredudd who had been playing within his favourite spot just inside the Kyrwoode which sits on the edge of Mathom Trove. The Kyrwoode is a great expanse of forest which stretches from Wyvernkeep to Tyth and within this forest lived the Great Arch Druid known as Taliesynne Nychymwrh yr Anghyfannedd Llanrhyddlad.

Taliesynne took pity on young Maredudd and assumed responsibility for him. He began instructing the boy in the ways of the land, the plants, the trees, and the love of balance. For many years the lessons which Taliesynne taught young Maredudd molded him into a man of temperance and justice. Honour, Courtesy, Balance, and Service were the principles which were imparted into the very being of Maredudd.

On the night that the Great Arch Druid drew his last breath he taught Maredudd his final lesson, "You must face death as you face life, with a sense of awe and respect. With love in your heart and the song of the trees in your ears." Maredudd's Master then took his hand and placed it upon his breast passing on the charge of the Kyrwoode to the protege whom he dearly loved, closed his eyes, and passed into the realm of Annwn.

Maredudd vowed to serve his Master's legacy through service to others & devotion to nature. With his Elf companion Arianwyn (That's another tale) he formed Hosbis y Ddraig known in the common tongue as: "Dragon's Hospyce." A refuge for all, a home for the homeless, a family for the abandoned..
