On March 25, 2008 - Kaiser Sir Morgan Ironwolf decided to pull the contract between Mourningwood Glen and the Emerald Hills.

I don't like having to do this but it's my sad duty to announce that The Kingdom of the Emerald Hills is terminating their contract with the Shire of Mourningwood Glen due to failure to comply with terms of their agreement with the Kingdom of the Emerald Hills.

A letter detailing the reasons for termination will be sent by the Emerald Hills B.O.D. pursuant to the Termination of Agreement clause of the Established Park Agreement/Contract signed and executed on August 11, 2007. When Mourningwood Glen is willing to work within the rules of the Kingdom of the Emerald Hills we will be more than glad to talk with them about petitioning status again.

  • SGT BALL will be held by Hellig Brann on the 29th .The Ball will be held at the Deer Park Civic Center. The Fighting will be based around Gladitor Games & the Ball will have a Roman flare.

  • Broken Citadel in Lampasses, Tx holds it's coronation and an Arts and Sciences Tourney.

  • Siar Geata has a booth and will run nigh-continuous demos at the Escondido Renaissance Fair April 5-6 and 12-13. Their mid-reign will be held on April 12th after fair closes.
  • Dragonspine's upcoming Crown quals will be on April 5th. Elections will be on April 12th. The coronation of the newly elected monarchy will be on April 26th. More details soon to come.
  • The Fairbanks Alaska chapter of Astral Winds will hold a demo at Articon this Saturday from 12 pm til 6pm at the Wood Center Ballroom on Campus.

  • Nine Willows will hold their Spring Midreign April 5. They call it their "2nd April fools day". A pot luck BBQ feast for follow.

  • On the 29th Twilight Peak will hold their Coronation at xt Thomson Memorial Park at high noon. for those of you who do attend you will be treated to a plethora of Twilight Peak original battlegames, as well as a unique GE fundraising tournament run by Nathanial, and finished up with a quest for Twilight Peak's own relic, the Luminosus.
  • Twin Moons, and incipient Chapter of Goldenvale has updated their Heraldry

Iron Mountains

  • The Duchy of Olympus will be holding their Crown Quals on Sunday March 30th at Lower City Park in Iowa City, IA.
  • Ivory Tower Lincoln, NE will hold two A&S competitions on Sunday the 30th. "Dress a noob" and "Court Garb".

Neverwinter

Rising Winds

  • Rising Winds holds it's 12th Coronation. Festivities include a night quest, Ironman Tourney, A Marvel vs. DC Battle, The Champion's Tourney, a Relic Quest, and Circle of local Monarchs. This will be Clyde's first term as Monarch. Teth Bloodthorne Received his belt in the order of the Serpent.
  • The chapter of Ashen Hills in Haslett, MI, is trying to convince those who would split from the group to play with less magic and heavy weapons to do other wise. The new group is called Expendia and wishes to play something 'like Amtgard'.
  • North haven passed the Board of directors vote today and was accepted as a petitioning park of the Rising Winds. After a 6 month probation period they will be then voted on by the Rising winds Circle of Monarchs for full acceptance in to the kingdom. North haven was recently a chapter of the Iron Mountains.
  • Congratulations go to Io from Ashen Hills, for winning the First annual Rising Winds Best of the Best competition. She took home the trophy, and will have to defend it next year.

Wetlands

  • March 30th Ironwood in in Conroe, Texas will hold a late Easter/ welcome to spring A&S for the kids! Bring your happy smiley kids, and we'll decorate and eat cookies, draw/color, make stuff, and... There will be a A&S tournament for us big kids too!!!!
  • Sir Gavin has declared for the office of Kingdom Regent of the Wetlands. Previous Declarations have been Dorath, Raton and Greasy for champion; Ozzymandius for Regent; Margul, Plague, Broom With a Coat (Very glad the MRI was negative) for monarch.

  • Baraduin an HFS Kingdom will hold their coronation at Pease Park in Austin, Texas 10:30 am - 10:30 pm on Saturday the 29th.

Spring War Pics and Vids

Spring War: Academy of Wars the largest Amtgard event, was hosted by the Celestial Kingdom in Giddings, Texas. The attendance topped last year's event and approached the 2006 total; reaching, at the last available count, the 640s. People traveled from all over the Amtworld to attend, with the longest traveling delegation coming from Alaska's and Dragonspine's Astral Winds. Many previously inactive notables were present including Ivar Nefarious and Skippy. Some, like Michael were greatly missed. Thanks go out to the group that made the trip down from the Frostlands; who despite their long drive to the event were seen helping out where ever they could.

The majority of the planned battles came off well, with the possible exception of the Raid on Tortuga. Mass spells and Water rules were used in a combination with pvc boats and a Kraken, which lead to a lot of confusion. This particular battlegame was saved by Raven Harkkonen's near perfect portrayal of Jack Sparrow, even in retreat.

Jugging this year, while without last year's brawls, was filled with what can only be called conduct unbecoming. Many red cards were given, one notably to Weasel for punting the dog skull, despite the fact that the move was illegal and that he that he was already dead.

Tourneys were one by those you'd expect, Oznog taking the Robin hood tourney. Wench won the 20th annual Queen of the Hill tourney with a streak of 14, and most people agreed that tourney itself was not nearly as bad as last year. Sparhawk was the victor of the Tri-wizard Tourney, and was named the Flurb of the year as a result.

This was a big year for Knightings at SW, with three first belts being given and one second. The Celestial Kingdom ninja Knighted Lynae and Chango, each in the order of the Flame. Each of them were knighted in part because of the work they had put into previous Spring Wars. The Wetlands also created two Knights, Zane our newest Serpent Knight and they granted Slyddur his Crown Belt. Crown would have been his original order of Knighthood in 1998, if not for a last second switch to Flame.

In the end no major injuries were reported, and no yet known brawls, and most seem to have had a good time. So thank you from Spring War, and we hope to see you next year!

Headlines

  • Desert Winds's Kingdom Packet has been approved by the BLBoD and and "all set" for the vote at Clan by the COM. DW plans to send delegation of 50 members to Clan for the vote, and to that end have been holding fund raisers for nearly six months that have accrued $1,300. If approved by the Circle of Monarchs Desert Winds will be the 14th Kingdom of Amtgard. Check out their bid packet.

  • Rivermoor is chosen as the new name for the central Iron Mountains Principality. They also chose to include the offices of GMR and Champion in their Principality Corpora.
  • The Chapter of North Haven is reported to have left the Kingdom of the Iron Mountains.
  • The River's End in Salt Lake City, UT discusses weather or not it will be mandatory to wear garb at their fighter practices.
  • The western Washington Principality of Northern Lights will hold a Circle of Monarchs meeting to discuss thing occurring during the upcoming reign.
  • The Duchy of Olympus will be holding their 2nd Annual Ironman Tournament at Lower City Park in Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday March 15th. RSVP's and questions should be sent to Skrag [1].
  • Kayden announces that Amtgard has been invited back to Starfest, a convention to be held in Denver, Colorado on April 18-20. The staff are looking for Volunteers for a demo.

  • Emer Rustytongue and Dougie have declared for Kingdom Monarch.
  • Dragonspine proper in Los Cruses, New Mexico has decided to give fighter practices another go. They will be holding this on Thursdays at Apodaca Park at 7pm.
  • Anatole Stroke has declared war on all monsters living in and around Dragonspine, or as Duke Stroke calls, it "Anatolia". He has done this with the backing of King Randall.

Goldenvale

  • The Duchy of Bitter Coast, and the Shire of Dragon Cross have begun looking into the possibility of having a joint Coronation event.
  • Caradoc Hold's Midreign Celebration is held March 15th, field at Nazareth College Rochester, NY, at 1:00PM
  • The new Kingdom Monarchy announces their goals for the up coming reign. They will hold an althing to discuss them and changes to their corpora.
  • The Barony of the Sea of Rhye Proudly announces their first large event, The Underdark June 27th - June 29 to occur at Nike-Carrollton Park, Smithfield VA. This will be a role play event based on 2 teams, The Drow and The Sea of Rhye. The Drow are invading the Sea of Rhye with mysterious unknown purpose. Still, their conquest is relentless and it seems nothing can stop their forces.

Wetlands

  • In and Unprecedented turn of events the Wetlands will hold their coronation with the CK at Firemen's Park in Giddings Texas. Intents for Monarchy are Margul and Plague for Monarch and Ozymandius for Regent.
  • The barony of UTopis, thought to be inactive, will hold their midreing on the 15th at Four Mile Park.

Neverwinter

Rising Winds

  • The Dutchy of Gryphon's Perch has declared war on the Barony of Dragon's Tail! We call for Allies to stand with us on the field of battle at the Barony of Dragon's Tail on the 12 of April around noon. All those brave enough to stand with us, contact Corranna Yngling, and together we will crush our foes!
  • Phoenix Tears in Springfield, IL is sending a group to of at least eight to visit it's sister chapter Cursed Prairie in East Peoria, IL.
  • Western Gate Quals Scores are in dispute.
  • Madoc's Keep in Louisville, KY will hold their Qualifications Tourney.
  • Dragon's Tale hopefully will hold a feast. Their last meeting was canceled due to weather. They will be at Leaverton Park in Palestine again.
  • The East Peoria chapter Cursed Prairie has created their own Forums.

  • Veles Harbour in Yorktown, Virginia will hold an open house for all comers with free food.
  • Panther's Claw reopens in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
  • Falcon Tor in Columbia MO is having trouble playing at their park. They have been removed more than once by a park ranger, now they have completed their "Special Use Permit" for the City, and have a meeting scheduled Moday (3/17) to plead their case.
