What is it?

A signed and notarized contract between Kingdom of Burning Lands and a Chapter. According to the information at http://www.amtgard.com. The rulebook and other documents of Amtgard are copyrighted and can be found under Core Documents accessable from the Amtgard Inc. page. They are free for individuals to download for themselves, but only under the specific permission of the contract if one wishes to play the game. Further, it is expressly prohibited for anyone or any group other than a contracted land to sell a rulebook. Even then there are express conditions for doing so.

"It allows a group to call themselves "Amtgard." It sets the date of a land, and it gives permission to create copies of the Amtgard Rulebook and Amtgard Corpora for their members."

An FAQ is available at http://www.amtgardinc.com/blpages/faqs.html

New Contract processs

As of February 1, 2008, Amtgard Inc will be implementing a new contract process to speed up the process.

The new procedure will be to scan and attach copies of the first and last pages of the contract, filled out properly, along with a copy of the identification cards for all signatories and an introductory letter with all the pertinent information such as location, intents, etc. (The intro letter can be included in the text of the email)

The email address for contract remittal is: [email protected]

It is no longer necessary to notarize the contract, however, you must attach the copy of the identification cards or the contract will be rejected.

All contracts will be returned by email.

Specific directions can be found at amtgard.com, under start a chapter.

All contracts already received through the postal service have either been returned or are in the process of being returned.

Please, refrain from sending us contracts by US Mail. While they will still be processed, the rate of return will be far slower than those sent to us by email.

Update (2012) Contracts will only be accepted via email from now on.
