HFS' largest event, the Combined Realms War, or CRW, is held once a year, sometime in the summer. Since 1998, the realms (or different chapters of HFS) have congregated for fighting, roleplay and competition, giving far separated kingdoms the opportunity to fight against each other. This event has usually been in the Austin vicinity.
The Combined Realms War began as a Drandmir sponsored event in 1998, intended to balance the HFS Interkingdom Picnic that occurred in the very early spring. It was initially held at the Burnet County Fairgrounds. After four very successful years to hosting CRW, Drandmir handed off the event so that each interested kingdom could take a hand in hosting it.
Many Texas Amtgard players, particularly CK and EH and primarily Torches attend this HFS event.
