General Information
Ortega is currently a freelancing warrior. He is a citizen of the shire of Crying Heavens located in Southern Neverwinter. He prefers to wear light armor. He mainly uses a short sword and buckler in battle. He usually wears dark colors resembling the uniform of The Horde; A retired fighting company in the shire. Ortega has a kind heart, despite his history he is generally a good person.
Personal History
Ortega was raised in the slums of souther Neverwinter. He is an orphan. His childhood friends were Asos the Healer, Bromlindor the Scout, and Zeromaru the Wizard. He spent much time of his life with them. He first discovered the shire of Crying Heavens with Bromlindor in 2005 and joined the Endbringer Pirates as their Brigadier Commander at age 17. He then found out that Asos and Zeromaru had joined The Horde. The Horde's leader, Kakashi the Barbarian, appointed Zeromaru as Liutenant Wizard of the Horde. Zeromaru urged Ortega to join their fighting company. He told Ortega that The Horde will devastate the Pirates and Tear of Blood; another fighting company lead by Mortis.
Ortega was at a loss, he had to choose between betraying the Pirates and Bromlindor and betraying Asos and Zeromaru. After much time, Ortega decided to betray the Pirates and stood victorious alongside the Horde in many battles.
Despite his betrayal, Ortega still remain in good terms with Bromlindor and Azurea; Liuetenant Healer of the Pirates.However, Bromlindor left the Pirates and traveled north beyond Neverwinter to become a better fighter.
Life in the Horde
The Horde treated Ortega well. At least everyone but Kakashi. Ortega took a disliking of Kakashi. He saw the evil in Kakashi's heart and did not agree with him in many things. He was reluctant to follow any of his orders. He would only deal with it because of Asos and Zeromaru; his close friends. For years Ortega battled The Pirates, Tear of Blood, and any outsiders under the command of the Horde. Ortega served in the Horde to the very end. He trained new members and drew his sword against anyone who would harm his comrades. Despite his hatred to his leader, he learned many skills and techniques from Kakashi.
The fall of the Horde
Ortega was heartbroken with the destruction he had brought upon the shire. He realized what he was doing was wrong. He also realized he was becoming the person he hated. More and more Ortega saw Kakashi in himself. For that very reason, Ortega wanted to leave the Horde. Just about he was going to leave, something terrible happened. Apparently Zeromaru and Kakashi were captured during an assassination and taken to an uknown location. This news spread amongst the Horde quickly. Many of their members disbanded. Asos decided to travel north to explore the lands of Neverwinter. Ortega was left as the only remaining member of the Horde. His blade now fights for himself.
A new beginning
Ortega pursued in the arts of shadows. He became an Assassin. He traveled the lands of Neverwinter untill one day he encountered a fellow Assassin by the name of Brude. Brude asked Ortega to return to the shire and help him rebuild it. Ortega agreed. Things are much better now and life is grand. The shire is very successful and Ortega has become a very active member in the shire. He participated in an all out brawl between the assassins in the shire. However, he was defeated in battled due to an alliance between Brude and Andronious. He was offered the position of champion by Mortis but refused. Even though he refused, he still dueled Ringo for the position and purposely threw the fight. Ortega was also offered to run for guildmaster of warrior and refused as well but, offered his teachings to the new citizens. Ortega also faught valiantly against Mortis and his band of warriors now known as the Order of the Spider when there was a human infant sacrificed to the Gods.
Speculations
Members of the shire feal uneasy with Ortega wearing his Horde Uniform. Why does he still wear it? No one seems to understand why. There has also been rumors that Ortega has been seen with ex-members of the Horde. Does this mean the Horde is returning? Or is Ortega going to form a new Fighting Company to fight the evil rising in the shire?
