Biography

Vera resurrected the practice of making macrame belts after the original practice died out in the early 90's. Once she was able to determine that they used the friendship bracelet pattern, she started producing them for sale in her shop. She introduced patterns still in use today, include that of the chinese rope braid pattern that was reproduced from a children's craft book she owned. At the time, it was simply known as the "celtic knotwork pattern".

Eventually she started offering to teach people how to make the belts, by having them produce them for her shop and then helping them make their own. Through this practice, many people in texas amtgard learned how to make macrame belts.
