Something to understand about Avarice

The being known as Avarice has multiple personalities (which your character wouldn't know unless he/she concluded that from interacting with him) Just so you know, the typical thing to see Avarice doing is talking to himself, saying things out loud that have nothing to do with what's going on, and may seem to your character as if he is suddenly a different person with a different attitude and tone of voice from one instant to the other.

Records

  • The player character Avarice was introduced to Amtgard on 5-17-09.
  • Founded the Fighting Company, Dreadnaught Legion with the individual known as Drake Devereaux on 5-31-09.
  • Feast Title of 2009: "Evil Ryss Killer"
    • Sub note: Avarice has gotten word that the infamous Evil Ryss only used a small fraction of his skill during every encounter with Avarice. Although Avarice can appreciate a person who takes enjoyment from "the lols", he looks forward to the day Evil Ryss fights him seriously.

Biography

Although he is mainly a person who will sneak up on you and stab you from an exposed area, Avarice is good at tactics and getting things done. He likes to be far away and use throwing weapons, but when he gets the chance, he will turn to melee. He tends to not run away if there is a good chance he will survive a fight. Although he is a Barbarian, he isn’t normally ruthless in the actions he takes. He seems to have alternate personalities... or is he the alternate personality. It is not uncommon to find him talking to himself and changing his voice and attitude suddenly as if he had become a different person.

Avarice is a follower of a single man; a man among men. This man’s name is Pedro Fuentes. Throughout Avarice’s childhood beginning at age six, he has followed Pedro Fuentes as best as he could. If it was virtually possible for Avarice to follow him, he would definitely be no farther than thirty feet away from Pedro Fuentes; ever watching his acts of manliness, breathing in the influence that comes from simply watching Pedro Fuentes. However, at a certain point at age 19, his hero had not been seen for nearly a week. Avarice grew worried and greatly wanted to know where Pedro Fuentes had gone, for he knew that he was not nearly as strong as he should be if he were to match even a small fraction of Pedro Fuentes’ strength, and without his hero, he felt he could not hope to progress in his learning. On the seventh day of Pedro Fuentes’ absence, during a time slightly past noon, a portal had opened before Avarice’s eyes and out came his hero, Pedro Fuentes. Pedro Fuentes seemed quite frustrated, even more so than he usually is. He called out to Avarice and spoke of the land that had befouled his patience and endurance for such horribly non-combat worthy stupidity (in the words of Pedro Fuentes) in the natural laws of battle. He had told Avarice that it was below him (Pedro Fuentes) to train in such a land; however, it was a perfect opportunity for Avarice to finally gain some true training in combat. During this entire time, Pedro Fuentes was effortlessly holding the magical portal so that it could not close. It was as if Pedro Fuentes had said screw (altered word to prevent foul language) you to magic and dominated its own laws by using his own non-magical hands to hold open that which was pure magic. With that, Pedro Fuentes put his mighty hand on Avarice’s shoulders and ordered him to dominate the plain with his own strength; this was the first time Pedro Fuentes had ever touched him. However, it was cut short when Pedro Fuentes shortly lifted Avarice, took his meal which was a burger fit to Pedro Fuentes’ liking and then effortlessly threw him into the portal before letting go of it so that it may close. With that, Pedro Fuentes proceeded to eating the hamburger and walked off. So begins Avarice’s adventure in the land of Amtgard, Neverwinter.

The transition from his coward-like strategies to a man worthy of battle is one that is still an ongoing process for the character development of Avarice.

Avarice has learned that the strategy that has proven to have the best results so far is to be somewhat of a “Joker”

Although he considers himself to be neither on the side of good nor bad, he usually sides with the ones who consider themselves good, mainly because he finds them to be less disgusting.

The beings currently identified in the singular entity known as Avarice

  • Avarice: Light hearted, "Joker", admirer of Pedro Fuentes. This is the individual who admired Pedro Fuentes from a young age and followed him up to his nineteenth year. All strategic conspiracies, lawyership, informal intelligence, and political decisions come from Avarice.
  • Alter Ego (No name): A serious and straight forward, although extremely cautious individual. This is the person who keeps the others within him from being killed most of the time. This man is in psychology terms the "Ego" that ultimately listens to the "Superego" and is most seen during the times Avarice goes Berserk. All tactical approaches and locical retreats come from the instinctive desire to live that is Avarice's Alter Ego.
  • Father: An alternate personality in Avarice, but unknown to him. He is a weapon smith that takes pride in all of his creations and regards them as works of art. He will only make a weapon for someone if he has judged them to be worthy, and will only give them a specific weapon that will be suitable for them. To do this, he must also have trust in the person. The times Father finds himself in battle, he focuses mainly on increasing his allies morale while decreasing his enemies morale. All talent and morale focus derives from Father.
    • Theme Song (When not involved in battle): "Gattsu"

There are times where more than one personality can intertwine with each other for the sake of a variant that is required for the given perdicament being presented in Avarice's life. For instance, the "Joker" aspect of Avarice can intertwine with the Alter Ego to a certain extend to present more of a psychological approach toward defeating an opponent.

Garb and Equipment

His current attire (Garb) includes a poncho shirt and pants, which are both made from tiger hide. His typical possessions are a white pouch in his left pocket with seeds that were dipped in different colored inks that he uses to lay out on the ground and strategize with; a pouch on his right pocket that holds his friend or foe die of chance, as well as the currency that he holds (if any). Avarice once had a strange artifact-like necklace with "BELOVED" inscribed into it which he once could not take off, but for unknown reasons, a new necklace shaped like a tooth took its place. No matter how many times he forces it from his neck and throws it away, it always instantly appears around his neck once again; just like the old necklace.

Of course it is needless to mention the multiple weapons Avarice variates from. Sometimes he dozes off from reality for a moment and ends up with a weapon he has never seen before in his hand. Avarice lives a fairly interesting life...

The throwing weapons Avarice use are either purchased or collected through the battle field and placed in a pouch that he hand made using leather (the actual material is duct tape wrapped around a cut ziplock bag, and the closing flap is duct tape wrapped around a paper towel), which can more or less carry six throwing weapons. (this doesn't mean I actually do so out of character, it's just the explanation to where his throwing weapons in game come from)

There have been different bags aside from his first bag (the ziplock bag described above) that carry more throwing weapons. The most commonly known bag in the local area is "the bag of infinite throwies" that has said to have exactly the right amount of throwing weapons needed to kill every enemy, no matter how large the number needed is.

Biography

Child is not a human being; he is an embodiment of spiritual and magical energy that calls upon the power of the plane of mana. A lot of his ideals reflect those of the god he worships. Boccob, his god insists that magic is the most powerful and important thing in existence. Because of this, Child takes in this ideal and believes that nothing else other than his creator, Father, (An alternate personality in the player character Avarice), is truly important. He does not believe in good or evil; he believes in different ideals, opinions, and perspectives. He defends the allies of his creator and sides with no being that is against those he is bound to defend; no matter how much of an advantage it would bring to his disposal. Child is a philosopher that concentrates on human decision making and human emotions. He tries to mimic the mechanics of human decision making and emotions by rolling differently marked dice that have similar options of the possible reactions that involve most scenarios on each side. Although all of this is true, Child hides his true self and masks himself in a way to seem like a clown who is light hearted and average

Mortis' theory about Child is that Pedro Fuentes is his real father. This lead to a rumor that Child is an illegitimate child of Pedro Fuentes who was disowned by him because of his magical abilities.

Deity

Boccob, the god of Magic

Appearance

Although Child is not human, he (conveniently) looks like one. His outer attire normally consists of a red long sleeve sweater-like shirt and red pants with black stripes with snake skin ends where the feet extend from. Because of Child's appearance the Peasant Guildmaster Caboose has nicknamed him the "Pajama Wizard". He also wears an artifact-like necklace that was once worn around his father's neck with an encription of the word "BELOVED" carved into it.

Biography

Jyzz is an interesting fellow who was born in a family of peasents. The god Loki "gifted" Jyzz with the power of a healer while he was still an infant. In exchange for his gift, Loki placed a curse on Jyzz that he found hillarious. The curse was that in the condition that Jyzz would use his power to heal himself or another individual, he would get the same effects as if he were to inhale a certain substance that granted euphoria. Jyzz constantly runs around repeatedly yelling "crack" while healing as many people as he can. He is a clown and he knows and enjoys it. He is a man who enjoys life and thanks Loki for the gift he has given him, and Loki still laughs to the one known as the "Crack Medic".

Loki, the God of Mischief

Appearance

Jyzz tends to wear a small black and silver colored christian cross around his neck for reasons unknown. He also wears black pants that he could never fully understand how to button up completely in order to not expose his pelvic region completely. He tends to wear any shirt he can find at the time, but can immediately decide to change clothings from one second to the other due to the effects of his "addiction"

Biography

Kaw is an evil harpy who likes to kill for the sake of killing. Even if most of what he kills is considered food to him, he enjoys killing things that are defenceless against his attack. Kaw will only side with anyone when he believes it will give him some sort of benefit, and he will abandon those who he allies with if it is to his favor. Kaw is somewhat of a coward and doesn't fight battles he thinks he can lose or battles that the opponent has an equal chance of winning.

Kaw's goal in life is to meet his father, thank him for taking advantage of his mother which lead to his birth, learn all that he can from him, and then proceed to kill him when he has gained his trust. In the meanwhile, sharpening his claws on the faces of humans and other no-wings will do great when it comes to gaining the strength he will eventually need to kill his father.

Kaw finds the Guildmaster of Peasants, Caboose to look especially tasty.

Garb and Equipment

Kaw likes wearing dark colors, such as black and grey. He also bears small white wings that extend from the back of the upper part of his arm. His Garb consists of the wings, a black and grey horizontally striped shirt, and black pants.

Belted Family

Kaw is the offspring of an evil dragon that polymorphed into a fleshraker dinosaur, which then proceeded to take advantage of the female harpy, Makesh that guarded the Aerie of the Crow God. Although it was in the form of a fleshraker dinosaur, true dragons are apparently fertile with every creature. The product of Makesh the harpy and the evil dragon turned out to be Kaw, the "Fleshraker"

Biography

Jack is a man who once followed a man known only as "The Most Interesting Man". Due to The Most Interesting Man's reputation, he had many individuals who followed him without his permission. Because of this, Jack had an alternate form of learning from this man other than simply following behind him. Jack had appeared as a merchant known as Spade in every town that The Most Interesting Man set foot to in hopes of catching his interest. Every town meant another interesting encounter between the two; this was one of few men who had actually followed The Most Interesting Man like a disciple rather than a fan. Because of this, The Most Interesting Man allowed Jack to continue his Shenanigans of following him city to city. Eventually as the number of encounters increased, Jack had learned much from his observations of The Most Interesting Man and set fourth to open his store in a permanent location. Before he left to settle himself in a single location, The Most Interesting Man shook his hand and said "Spade a no Jack... It was a pleasure doing business with you"; now Jack's highest interest is that The Most Interesting Man will appear at his store's location by chance, rather than by Jack's own antics. The now refined distinguished Jack runs a tavern known as "The Stationary Gentleman" in Crying Heavens, Neverwinter.

Garb and Equipment

Spade a no Jack's most common attire is nice dress pants and a buttoned down dress shirt and a monocle; however, he will make due with anything so long as it is not disgracefully ridiculous.
