Its kind of funny that he should bring it up at this particular point, but the Artist formerly known as Qdink (pronounced quink, incidentally) is right that Amtgard names can have additional meaning.

Some examples:

• Ivar - "a great distance", as in I will kick your butt ivar if you cause me *any trouble
• Squeak -"a high whistle caused by her hitting you in the solar plexus"
• Otto - a synonym for "should", I otto get off of my ass and find a job.
• Kayrana - an Algerian dish made from couscous and lamb

• Axgar - the act of ritually cutting up fish
