Amtgard Audit for the Freehold of Arrantor (in the process of seeking recognition as a shire from the Kingdom of Goldenvale)

  • Are you active? What is your average number of players locally per week?

Yes, we have an average of 12 players a week.

  • What days and times do you meet?

We meet Sundays at noon, and Thursdays at 10:30pm.

  • What park do you meet in, city and state? Can you give directions or a physical address?

We meet on Elmira College Campus in Elmira, NY. It is located at 1 Park Place. Elmira, NY 14901

  • Who is your leadership? Can we have and post their contact information?

Sheriff – Brandrith Jakobsdottir (Julia Salvati) – 603-398-3099 Regent- Aldrych Afanas (Jamieson Riling) – 716-380-7461 Chancellor- Xavia Cloverfield (Casandra DeLuise) – 607-434-3878 Champion- Pidgeon the Storm-Caller (Elizabeth Coghill) – 607-972-9941 We have a shire e-mail for contact: [email protected]

  • What is your heraldry? Do you have a jpeg or other image file we can upload to the wiki?

Our heraldry is already on the wiki. It is a brown mountain with a white waxing crescent moon, on a dark blue field.

  • Have you taken a recent group photo of your chapter? Can we have a copy?

800px-ArrantorGroup1.JPG Taken at our last feast. We can provide a higher-resolution picture, if needed. Or if the link doesn’t work.

  • Do you have an example of your chapter's heraldry in use, as a favor, garb, banner, or similar?

  • When was your chapter founded? By whom?

Arrantor was founded in October 2009 by Dernath the Lost, Man-At-Arms (Sheriff), Lethe Ignis (Chancellor), and Caedere Greyshield (Champion).

  • Do you have traditions or games that you would say define your chapter?

Traditional line ditching and class battles are the most popular. We also do bear-pit quite often. We have feasts at the local Denny’s in full garb to celebrate our shire and give awards to the well-deserving. And at the end each Sunday battle our Sheriff will yell “To waffles!” and the remainder of the shire replies with “Waffles ho!” And then the entire shire heads to lunch together. [Sheriff’s Note: The waffles line is a quote from The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, which our founders watched religiously. Most of our group now has never seen the movie.]

  • Do you have an active forum, facebook groups, or mailing list? Can you give us links?

Our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/134507783318784/

  • Have you had any news organizations do any pieces on your chapter in the last two years?

No.

  • What have you been doing to attract new players?

Our most effective way of attracting new players has been by word of mouth. One of our members is on the staff of the college newspaper and is planning an article in the near future, and plans are being made to start advertising via flyers.

  • Has anything happened in the last year that you would like included in your history?

Before September of this year, our shire was fairly small. But an influx of new players started to join and within a month, the shire doubled in size. Then by November of this year, it has nearly tripled and is still growing. [Sheriff’s Note: This will also be the year that we become an official shire under the Kingdom of Goldenvale, as soon as we send in the updated Terms and Conditions.
