To point out, there is no special position or class of archer in either Belegarth or Dagorhir. An archer is anyone who happens to be holding a bow and shooting an arrow, although some chapters and events require safety training before someone is allowed to do so. This is very distinct from a class system, much more like how archery functions in an Amtgard militia battle than in an Amtgard class battle. There are, of course, additional rules related to archery for reasons of safety and playability, but these are not restricted to any special "class" or "position" of archers. --Oisin, 17 April 2009.

Is there any other player on the field granted the ability to call their own hits? Because of the unique ability granted to call their own shots, I would argue that it is a special position. While there are no special rules as to how/when you can assume this position it is still separated with its own rules. [[User:Hannoske|Hannoske]] 12:46, 18 April 2009 (EDT)
