The act of not taking a valid shot. Also called Waffling, Rhino-Hiding and various other negative terms, which are indicative to different areas.

A valid shot is one that stops or deflects.

Sluffing, or perceived sluffing, is a major cause of Amtgard arguments.

Habitual cheaters are sometimes referred to as Special Friends.

There are various solutions for cheating. Such as Clan Swords and Taking Out Insurance.

Some well known, and notorious cheaters are House BigSluff, and Sluffco. If you want to see some excellent examples of the worst sluffing in the game, watch them. Jynx Mercades, Loptr, and Hannoske are some of the worst.
